This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday September 20th 2018 at Chacewater Village Hall. The AGM will start at 3pm and will be preceded by the presentation of the Sir Richard Trant Memorial Award – Heritage Champion 2018 and the Dr John Rowe Memorial Lecture, delivered by Miss Carole Vivian who was the winner of the Heritage Champion Award in 2017. The lecture will start at 2pm and is entitled ‘Local History Research – A Never Ending Jigsaw Puzzle’. Junior Gig Championships at Newquay

The sun shone for the Newquay Junior Gig Championships a couple of weeks ago, with “Fowey A” being victorious.  Cornwall Heritage Trust were represented by Lt Col Philip Hills (Chairman of the Trust) and Lt Col Richard Trant (Trustee) who made the presentations to the teams.  The Trust is delighted to sponsor the prizes for the event each year....

Dogs to be kept on leads at Castle an Dinas

A dog attack resulted in 3 lambs being killed at Castle an Dinas on Monday. Sheep graze on the site, owned by Cornwall Heritage Trust, from April to October and are owned by a local grazier.  Dog walkers are warned that the sheep are on the site through the use of clear signage and are asked to keep their dogs under control.  Following this attack, which was likely to have been committed by more than one dog, Trustees direct that anyone walking their dog on the site MUST keep them on a lead at all times. When the sheep leave the site (usually in October) the rules may be relaxed however it is imperative that dog owners keep control of their pet at all times and dispose of its mess responsibly....
