Last year the Trust organised the Cornish Song Project with children from Wadebridge, Perranporth, Newlyn East and Newquay to introduce children to traditional Cornish songs. The children took part in workshops to learn the songs with the aim of performing them at the Lowender Peran Festival. The songs and music were recorded live at Lowender Peran and the audience was encouraged to join in by projecting the words onto a screen. The songs, backing tracks and scores can be found on the CHT website and are available for schools to use. There is also some background and history to each song and links to more information and resources that may be useful. Huge thanks to everyone that helped to make this project so successful, it is very much hoped that Cornish schools will find this a valuable resource!
