Truro Cathedral and The Royal Cornwall Museum
On a wet and windy day in November, Tregonning Class from Penponds School visited Truro Cathedral and the Royal Cornwall Museum as part of their learning in Religious Education and history. When the children entered the cathedral they were amazed at the height of the roof and were keen to explore. They greatly enjoyed dressing up, role play and reading historical documents to find out about how the Cathedral was founded in 1880.
After eating lunch in the crypt, we walked across town to the museum to complete a gallery challenge. This was the first time most of the children had been able to see the whole museum and they loved drawing artefacts and recording information in their notebooks.
Despite the weather, we all had a wonderful day in Truro!
