From Cornwall Heritage Trust Grants for School Transport

Polperro School

Lanhydrock House
October 2015

Sunny autumn weather brought out the beauty and grandeur of Lanhydrock House for the children of Landaviddy Class from Polperro School when they visited in October as part of their history topic.

Knowledgeably guided by National Trust Volunteers, the children learned about the contrasting lives of the staff and family of Lanhydrock in Victorian times and saw first- hand the objects and technology of that era. They will use this experience and knowledge back in school to complete a cross-curricular project about people in the local area in the past.

The transport for this trip was funded by the Cornwall Heritage Trust, and Polperro School extends their thanks for such generous support. The cost of transport is often a barrier to taking pupils out on field-trips, so CHT have really made a great difference to children’s learning.
