From Cornwall Heritage Trust Grants for School Transport

St Cleer School

October 2017

Year 3 from St Cleer School have been learning about ‘Prehistoric Cornwall’. They were particularly interested in learning about the infamous golden cup found at Rillaton Barrow. Thanks to Cornwall Heritage Trust, the children were able to visit the site along with their guide, Steve. It was fascinating to see where the cup had been discovered but also to learn about what an important site Minions really is and the amount of history it holds! The good old Cornish weather created a great atmosphere too (so much so they made a parachute shelter in which to enjoy their snack!) Steve also took them to see the Hurlers and told Year 3 the legend behind this impressive stone circle. This experience really brought the children’s learning to life and was greatly enjoyed by all.
