Fowey School visit Penlee House

School News From Cornwall Heritage Trust Grants for School Transport Fowey School visit Penlee House “Coombe class had a fantastic time at Penlee House! They took part in handling artefacts, storytelling and craft activities throughout the day. This included making Bronze Age badges and Stone Age clay pots. They even had the opportunity to express how much they have learnt during out topic (Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages) which was great to see as their teacher. We would never have been able to do this trip if it wasn’t for your funding. The class and I would like to thank you for the great opportunity you have given us.”   More News from the Schools Roche CP School trip to the National Maritime Museum School News Fowey School visit Penlee House School News Fourlanesend CP School visit to Truro Cathedral School News St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust visit to Pendennis Castle School News Carclaze Primary School visit to the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth School News Polperro Primary Academy visit to Wheal Martyn School News St Marys C of E School visit Truro Cathedral School News A trip to Geevor for the children of St Columb Major Academy School News St Mary’s School in Bodmin study tunnels and turrets at Pendennis School News St Hilary School explore the fogou at Carn Euny School News « Older...

Fourlanesend CP School visit to Truro Cathedral

School News From Cornwall Heritage Trust Grants for School Transport Fourlanesend CP School visit to Truro Cathedral “On the 15 of November K.S.2 went on a trip to Truro funded by the Cornish Heritage Trust so full thanks to them. After a long journey on the train our school finally arrived at Truro. We walked a long way to the Royal Cornwall Museum. The first room we went in was the animal room. It was great fun. You could look things in these tubes. There also some shark suits and some of my friends dressed up in them. We then went into a room where you could dress up as Victorians! I tried the giant of Cornwall’s shoe size; it was massive compared to mine! We then went upstairs to see the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman artefacts. They were so beautiful. We looked at some medicine that a man took with him to Africa. Our class went into the art gallery. We stared in amazement at the wonderful paintings. My favourite painting was the one of the flowers in the field. We walked on to the Egyptian room. It was full of really interesting artefacts and we got to see a real mummy!!!!!! After that we went to the Truro Cathedral.” by Daisy Burton Class Lynher   “The Cornish Heritage Trust paid for us to go on a trip to Truro so we only had to pay £3! They paid for us to go on a Great Western Railway. This is what we did… Firstly, we went onto the train and travelled to Truro. When we got...

St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust visit to Pendennis Castle

School News From Cornwall Heritage Trust Grants for School Transport   St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust Pendennis Castle Visit “On Monday 9th October 2017, When it was cloudy and foggy outside, Oak Willow and also Elm class went on an amazing trip to Pendennis Castle. We went on the trip because we are learning about British Monarchs and Castles at school. The Monarch who built this castle was Henry VIII. Eventually, after an hour long bus drive, we arrived at Pendennis Castle. We walked to a building that we could put our bags in. Next we went outside to look at some cannons, they were fantastic! After that we went to a little museum room full of  information of different wars from the past. We then went into the massive castle. We saw rooms such as: cannon room, top floor and another cannon room that had a lot of smoke in it. The room was very realistic!  At the top floor we played hide and seek. We hid on the top floor and Miss Weale had to find us. After that, we came down and saw a cannon fire…BOOM!!! It was amazing to see and hear, we watched from the top of the castle. Next, we had lunch. For lunch I had sandwich, fruit and two biscuits. Then, we went through a dark tunnel to find some sheltered guns which were facing the coast, we learnt about why they were there.  After that, we went back into the Castle. We visited the kitchen and storage room. The castle was fantastic, I enjoyed walking around and climbing up and down...
