What We Do

Cornwall Heritage Trust owns and manages some of the most iconic heritage sites in Cornwall, working closely with local communities, Natural England and English Heritage. These sites include the magnificent Treffry Viaduct which is an excellent example of Cornwall’s more recent industrial heritage, as well as more ancient sites such as Castle an Dinas, a commanding iron age hill fort.

As a result of our joint working, members of Cornwall Heritage Trust can enter English Heritage sites in Cornwall completely FREE of charge.  So why don’t you join us and help to protect this wonderful place.

Managing Heritage Sites

We own some of the iconic heritage sites in Cornwall such as Treffry Viaduct and manage other sites such as Carn Euny on behalf of English Heritage. This means that our members have FREE entry into English Heritage sites in Cornwall such as Pendennis Castle and Restormel Castle.

Education Support

We have developed a vast array of teaching resources but also provide funding for school trips which are invaluable in helping schools to conduct school trips to our sites, such as Carn Euny.

We have also funded projects such as Landmark Travels which provide school workshops and on-site learning.

Bursaries

Our bursary scheme has helped a number of students with their research into Cornish heritage.

Grants

Each year we provide grants to organisations across Cornwall to enable then to continue their own heritage work.

Sir Richard Trant Memorial Awards

Each year recognise a heritage champion in Cornwall in memory of Sir Richard Trant who did so much to protect Cornish heritage and was also a former Chairman of the Trust.

Community Outreach Programme

We are building up a range of community events, such as our community picnic at Treffry Viaduct and a series of Cornish Story Cafes (Whethlow Kernow) across Cornwall, working in conjuction with local communities and the Old Cornwall Societies.
