On this site was located the Cornwall Operations Room for the Royal Observer Corps. Aircraft flying over the County in WW II were plotted here enabling the issue of Air Raid warnings and interception of enemy aircraft. This plaque is dedicated to all those who served in the Corps 1940-1949 and beyond.
