DESCRIPTION:Explore the history of Cornwall’s largest and most impressive hillfort with Cornwall Heritage Trust’s Sites Officer and Archaeologist\, Dick Cole.\nDate: Wednesday 22nd July\nTime: 11:00am – 12:00pm\nLocation: Castle an Dinas (East)\, St Columb Major\, TR9 6JB  What3Words: ///tiredness.thrilled.waggled\nParking: Free parking available in the on-site car-park \nPrice: £12 per person \nLocated on the summit of Castle Downs near St Columb Major\, this imposing hilltop monument dates from around the second and third centuries BCE. Hillforts like this are thought to have been a focus for the community\, symbols of the wealth and power of the tribe\, and a central place for social ceremonies\, trade and ritual. \nThis hour-long guided walk will take you on a whistle-stop tour of the site’s fascinating history and introduce you to the myths and legends surrounding it. \nThe walk will be led by Cornwall Heritage Trust’s Sites Officer and Archaeologist\, Dick Cole and places are limited to just 15 so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.  \n\nAccessibility and general event info\n\nThe walk involves uneven ground\, steps and slopes.
