SUMMARY:Bleujowa Fenten Sen Kler | St Cleer Well Flowering
DESCRIPTION:Help celebrate the wonder of water at St Cleer Holy Well and Cross this Spring.\nLocation: St Cleer Holy Well and Cross\, St Cleer\, Liskeard\, PL14 5DX – What3Words: ///dart.regulates.releases \nWatch this historic site be blessed in both Cornish and English and learn a little about its fascinating story. Then raise your voices for a rousing rendition of Trelawney before being treated to traditional Cornish dancing from the children from St Cleer Primary Academy. \nOn the day \nThe schoolchildren will parade to the monument from St Cleer Primary Academy at 10.15am.  \nTraditional Cornish music and dance will be led by Merv and Alison Davey. \nParking \nParking is available on the roads around the village. \nAbout the site \nSituated within a small walled enclosure in St Cleer\, the site consists of a holy well and wayside cross thought to date from the early 16th century. It is the only example of a well house with an open porch-like design in Cornwall and the mouldings on the building’s capitals are also unusual.  \nBefore the Reformation\, it may have been used to display the image or relics of a saint for pilgrims visiting the site\, who would have had access to water from the spring covered by the building. \nThe well house had become a ruin by about 1700\, but it was restored in 1864-5 as a memorial to a long-serving vicar of St Cleer\, the Reverend John Jope.

SUMMARY:Volunteering Opportunity - Cornwall Heritage Trust Ranger Day
DESCRIPTION:Cornwall Heritage Trust’s Ranger Days are an exciting programme of practical volunteering opportunities at our heritage sites around Cornwall. \nTaking place at Castle an Dinas (East)\, this session will involve a flora survey. Work such as this is a vital part of helping us protect these ancient monuments and the natural habitats that they are part of\, and we are hugely grateful for any support you can give. \nNo experience is required and support and equipment will be provided. \nAlthough we are keen to accommodate all offers to volunteer\, on some occasions we are restricted to the number of volunteers that can participate on site. Places in these instances will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. \nRegister your interest\nhttps://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/TheCornwallHeritageTrustLimit/volunteercastle.html
