“The story of the Killigrew Rapier explored Cornish and local identity (e.g. some children were from a school called Killigrew). This story drew on the smuggling and piratical past of Falmouth and its most notorious family. We also explored the links to King Arthur and dark age/medieval world of Cornwall
We delivered 8 shows for a variety of venues across Cornwall to a wide ranging demographic. Outcomes were an increased interest in swords and the stories they have associated with them including those around Cornish maritime and ancient stories.
It has led to a possible new theatre production based on part of the Cornish tale of Tristan & Isolde.”
