KS1 children from Bishop Bronescombe School were able to visit Pendennis Castle with the generous grant that we received from the Cornwall Heritage trust. Our whole topic for the spring term this year has been ‘Castles’. We have been looking at the structure of castles, where they were placed, how they were attacked and defended and our trip to Pendennis really brought the topic to life for the children, they loved the workshop too!
Here is what some of our children said about the trip:
“It was great! We now know why the castle is round! My favourite bit was doing the workshop. It was really cool!”
“I enjoyed looking around the castle. I know how they fired the cannons now. It was a brilliant trip.”
“I loved our trip because we went in the castle. We got to draw the cannons and the castle. It was exciting, I want to go back.”
“My favourite bit was all of it! It was amazing!”
