Ludgvan Academy visit Bodmin Keep
We would like you to know that we all had a fantastic time at the museum and the experience was invaluable to our learning.

“Last week, we took a trip to a history museum and looked at some amazing WW1 memorabilia. We tried on lots of clothes, saw real guns, like the Lewis gun, and even had a go in their trenches. The trip was so fun and the teachers there were amazed at how much we knew about the war. They said that we were, “The most knowledgeable group that we’ve had visit us.”
Once we got back to school, we made trench warfare stew, dug our own trenches in the rain and also wrote letters as if we were soldiers that were fighting in the trenches, in contrast to our lives back home in Cornwall. Luckily, the war didn’t impact on Cornwall as much as it did other areas, but we learnt that thousands of soldiers from our local areas still fought in the war.”
