The Year 4 pupils of Sandy Hill Academy had a fantastic time visiting Tintagel Castle.
The school said: “Along with breathtaking views of our beautiful Cornish coast, the children were particularly keen to take part in the activities supplied by English Heritage in which they learnt several Cornish words and names of nearby places. Walking along the bridge towards the remains of the castle was a major highlight for them and they had lots of questions about Merlin’s Cave and the tale of King Arthur!”
Year 4 Child: “The bridge was even better than I imagined, and I loved thinking about how the castle would have looked in the past.”
Year 4 Child: “I loved investigating the site and trying to work out what the Cornish translations were on all the signs!”
Year 4 child: “I had an amazing time! Merlin’s Cave looked so interesting, and I’d love to go back and visit inside it once it’s fixed.”
