Students from St Hilary School headed to Geevor Tin Mine earlier this year thanks to our School Transport Grants Scheme.
The children made persuasive brochures about mine as part of their work about the trip. They wrote the text to persuade other schools to visit.
Here are some examples…
“Come to Wheal Mexico Mine. When you walk through, it will take you back in time. It will give children an idea about the conditions that people used to work in. An experience not to be missed!”
“Panning for gems is great fun for all the family. You get to keep the gems you find. Bonus !!!”
“Children can experience carrying barrows and boring just like the Bal Maidens and Bal Men would have done. Come and give it a go!”
“Clint, the Experience Guide, is great fun and so knowledgeable about Geevor. Schools learn so much! Come to Geevor for an educational delight!”
