“Squirrel and Hedgehog Class had a fantastic time at Pendennis Castle. We loved exploring the artefact boxes and getting a hands-on experience with different time periods in history. The children enjoyed trying on different costumes and discussing how they were different from what we wear today! All of the information was relevant to our topic ‘Castles and Coasts’ and deepened the children’s appreciation of history.”
“The highlight of our visit was exploring the castle. We found lots of hidden features, which we have been learning about such as cannons, arrow slits and even the portcullis. Then we spent lots of time appreciating the wonderful view from the rooftop. We spotted St Mawes castle across the estuary and gazed over the rooftops into Falmouth. All the children learnt so much from our visit and have continued to talk about it at school.”
