More likely to be found windswept in wellies at a remote Cornish hillfort than in business suits, the staff at Cornwall Heritage Trust are a fun-loving but passionate team. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment and enthusiasm for Cornwall’s heritage and who can help to move the Trust forwards in its drive for growth, resilience and financial sustainability.
2024 heralds the 40th anniversary of the charity, which is enjoying an exciting period of growth and evolution. The management of historic sites is a key charitable objective and, with sixteen heritage sites in our care, it is also a huge honour and responsibility to look after these special places which form some of Cornwall’s most beautiful landscapes and quirkiest gems.
This new role will focus on the development of all of the properties owned or managed by Cornwall Heritage Trust. This will include formulation and implementation of a robust sites management strategy across our whole portfolio and progressing work already undertaken to create a sites acquisition strategy.
Overseeing the acquisition of new historic sites and responsibility for related community consultation, formulation of management plans and ensuring seamless integration to our organisation will also be important.
The successful applicant will liaise with new and existing external partners to identify development opportunities and mutually beneficial programmes and projects.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is perfect for someone with a passion for the great outdoors and the desire to really make a difference. Just like the sites themselves, no two days are the same!
This role has been made possible by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
How to apply
An application form can be downloaded from our website and should be completed in conjunction with the role specifications detailed in this document. This should be emailed to Cathy Woolcock on info@cornwallheritagetrust.org by midday on Wednesday 30th October 2024 and ensure that your email is entitled “Application for Sites Manager vacancy”. You may enclose a CV and covering letter if you wish, however applications without the application form will be disregarded.
Process
Shortlisting will take place shortly after the deadline date and shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, which is expected to take place on the week commencing Monday 18th November 2024. All applications will be acknowledged and the outcome advised in due course.
