On Thursday 2nd June 2022, Cornwall Heritage Trust will join in the Beacon Lighting celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth – her Platinum Jubilee. More than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.
Cornwall Heritage Trust will be lighting beacons on two of our sites – Castle an Dinas near St Columb Major and Sancreed Beacon near Penzance. The Beacons will be lit at 9.45pm following a Bugle rendition of ‘Majesty’ played at both locations.
Bring a torch as it will be dark when you leave. Please wear sensible shoes and take care when walking as there is uneven ground with walk to the beacon!
Pasties are now fully booked but if you would simply like to come and enjoy the beacon lighting you are more than welcome to join us.
