This brazier was lit by Brian Oldham, President of Liskeard Old Cornwall Society, as part of our annual Well Dressing Ceremony at the monument. Liskeard Old Cornwall Society organised this beloved community event before our charity acquired the site in 2022, and is now instrumental in supporting us to continue hosting it.

The festivities included a parade up to the monument led by Merv Davey on Celtic pipes, readings in Cornish and English, the laying of posies, a blessing of the well, and (of course) a rousing rendition of Trelawney.
They also showcased the talents of children from St Cleer Primary School. They paraded with a banner dedicated to the monument created in a special workshop with our Education and Outreach Manager, Caroline. They also performed Cornish dances learnt in a workshop with Alison Davey, an expert in Cornish dance and folk traditions.
