Want to help your organisation stand out from the crowd and celebrate Cornwall’s unique cultural identity by using Kernewek, the Cornish language?
As part of Speak Cornish Week, Cornwall Heritage Trust is partnering with An Rosweyth – a network of voluntary Cornish language organisations – to offer a special introductory workshop on using Kernewek in business.
Location: Kresen Kernow, Little Vauxhall, Redruth, TR15 1AS – What3Words: ///hence.smart.flamingo
The course is taking place in the ground floor Dowr Room. The building is fully accessible.
Price: £10
This 2-hour course will offer an introduction to the history of Kernewek and the ongoing story of its revival, followed by a language taster session to help you learn key phrases for business. There will also be the chance to explore how businesses are successfully embedding Kernewek into their work. The course will be rounded off with an interactive session on creating bilingual advertising, helping you to consider the different ways of getting your message out there.
Tea, coffee and saffron buns will be served.
This session is part of Speak Cornish Week 2025 and is being run in partnership with An Rosweyth.
Under its Speak Cornish banner, member groups organise events, promote the language and how to learn it, produce publications, create opportunities for using the language and generally provide help and advice. They aim to make the language accessible to all and work in partnership with each other and with organisations across Cornwall to increase the use of Cornish in our community life.
