The brazier was lit by the Friends of Luxulyan Valley – a local group we work with as part of the Luxulyan Valley Partnership. The valley is part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site and contains a wide variety of industrial remains including Treffry Viaduct, the 19th-century viaduct and aqueduct which our charity owns and looks after.

The festivities also involved children from Luxulyan School, many of whom attended the lighting with lanterns created in a special workshop with our Education and Outreach Manager, Caroline.
