Cornwall Heritage Trust is delighted to invite both its members and the public to step inside the historic Nancealverne estate this July for two special consultation open days designed to help shape the future of the newly gifted property.
Following the recent completion of the transfer of ownership, Cornwall Heritage Trust is now the official custodian of Nancealverne House, the Grade II* listed Georgian country house near Penzance which has been home to the Scobell Armstrong family since the 1750s.
The events will take place on Friday 10th July for members of Cornwall Heritage Trust and Saturday 11th July for the general public.
The consultation days are designed to invite and encourage people to explore Nancealverne, to experience the site and help shape its future. Visitors will be encouraged to share their memories, ideas and suggestions for how the house and grounds could be used, interpreted and developed in the years ahead.

Sophie Meyer, Engagement Manager, said:
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to this fantastic site for the first time. The open days are an opportunity for people to experience Nancealverne for themselves and help us begin an important conversation about its future. We want to hear local memories, ideas and aspirations so that the next chapter of Nancealverne is shaped with the community at its heart.”
Visitors wishing to come along and take part can do so by booking onto one of nine timed house tours operating on each day. Tours will be led by Sophie, and will provide an opportunity to see the principal rooms of Nancealverne House while learning about its fascinating history.
In addition to the house tour, visitors will be able to enjoy a circular self-guided walking route around the gardens and grounds, supported by a free handout map and interpretation guide.
Tea, coffee and cake will be available during the events.
Attendance is completely free, however advance booking is essential.
