About the day

Nancealverne is a Grade II* listed Georgian country house near Penzance set within more than 20 acres of parkland, formal gardens and woodland. Following its recent transfer into the care of Cornwall Heritage Trust, plans are now being developed to secure its long-term future and explore how the site can best serve local communities while safeguarding its heritage significance.

This consultation day will provide invited guests with an opportunity to experience Nancealverne first-hand and contribute to early discussions about its future. We are keen to hear ideas, identify opportunities and explore potential partnerships that could help unlock the site’s social, cultural, educational, environmental and economic value.

All attendees will take part in a guided tour of Nancealverne House, led by the Cornwall Heritage Trust team. The tour will provide the opportunity to see the principal rooms of the house while learning about its fascinating history and the opportunities and challenges involved in caring for the site.

In addition to the house tour, attendees will be able to enjoy a circular self-guided walking route around the gardens and grounds, supported by a handout map and interpretation guide..

Tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout the day, and Cornwall Heritage Trust staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and gather feedback..
