Pit Pottery and Historic Soap Making Heritage Skills Experience Day

Join us for an immersive experience in traditional crafts and discover the age-old skills of our ancestors.
Price: £80 per person
Location: Castle an Dinas, St Columb Major, TR9 6JB – What3Words: ///tiredness.thrilled.waggled
Dive into the art of pottery, utilising ancient techniques to create your own unique pieces. While waiting for the pottery to dry, we’ll be using horse chestnuts and ivy boiled over a fire to craft all-natural soap.
This hands-on, one-day workshop combines the beauty of creative expression with the practicality of natural resources, allowing you to connect with Cornwall’s rich heritage.
Perfect for heritage enthusiasts and curious beginners alike, this is a unique opportunity to learn ancient skills under expert guidance and create a historic replica to take home.
This one-day masterclass will take place at Castle an Dinas, an Iron Age hillfort located near St Columb Major. All materials, tools and equipment will be provided, along with tea, biscuits and a fire to keep you warm.
All ticket purchases come with a digital e-voucher for the masterclass or, for an extra £2 plus postage, you can choose a physical voucher to be sent to the UK address of your choice.
This masterclass will be delivered by Devon and Cornwall Bushcraft CIC and is part-funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This event is in aid of Cornwall Heritage Trust – the small, independent charity protecting Cornwall’s heritage for everyone.
