Nancealverne is a Grade II* listed Georgian country house that sits within more than 20 acres of parkland, including formal gardens and a small lake.
Home to the Scobell Armstrong family since the 1750’s, Nancealverne has been gifted to Cornwall Heritage Trust by the family to secure its long-term future and ensure its heritage is shared with the communities of Cornwall for generations.
The house, parts of which date back to the Elizabethan period, has been sympathetically maintained and retains many of the original features. Once a focal point for community events such as gymkhanas, performances and gatherings, Nancealverne has more recently served as both a family home and holiday accommodation.
Following consultation days held in July we are excited to share that two holiday lets are now available for booking allowing you to experience a unique opportunity to stay within the historic setting of Nancealverne, surrounded by Cornish countryside and centuries of history.
Cornwall Heritage Trust’s goal is to enable public access to Nancealverne in a meaningful and sustainable way, ensuring that the long-term plan is right for both the building, its grounds, and for visitors.
Nancealverne also contains a remarkable collection of portraits and mementoes that tell the stories of the family that lived here for nearly 300 years. Cornwall Heritage Trust is currently developing plans for an extensive archival and interpretation project to explore how best to share the property and its collections with the public.
